We walked around Tel Aviv yesterday, taking a look at the city that never sleeps at the shadow of Sharon’s hospitalization. Tel Aviv wakes up late on Saturday, even in the best of times. Some shots below of what we saw.
The older folks sitting in their hangouts, meeting the usual suspects. Father teaching his daughter how to ride her bike. Young man walking his dog. The coffee shops, the socializing, meeting friends, reading the paper and slowly waking up. The foreign workers sitting with friends..all these are part of the scenery this past Saturday.
The conversations turn to Sharon and his condition. You here some concern, speculations. But there is also the ongoing rhythm of life. We walked down to the beach and the grey skies turned black. Within minutes it was pouring. Every Saturday the boardwalk fills with people rollerblading, walking, running. Some go down to the beach, others play racket ball. The folklore dancers are there, twice a week. All ages and skill levels they dance in circles.
A few minutes after the sudden rain storm they continued dancing. The sun slowly came out and on they went. Life goes on. This is our new header and its Israel going on and persevering.
