Dr. Wafa Sultan getting threats

Update to the post made March 5th (Wafa Sultan Video courtesy of Memri TV) - This was published in the New York Times. Seems like Dr. Wafa Sultan has now been getting threats on her life.

“In response, clerics throughout the Muslim world have condemned her, and her telephone answering machine has filled with dark threats. But Islamic reformers have praised her for saying out loud, in Arabic and on the most widely seen television network in the Arab world, what few Muslims dare to say even in private….”

“She is probably more welcome in Tel Aviv than she would be in Damascus. Shortly after the broadcast, clerics in Syria denounced her as an infidel. One said she had done Islam more damage than the Danish cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad, a wire service reported.”

This can explain her strong feelings about Islam …

But, she said, her life changed in 1979 when she was a medical student at the University of Aleppo, in northern Syria. At that time, the radical Muslim Brotherhood was using terrorism to try to undermine the government of President Hafez al-Assad. Gunmen of the Muslim Brotherhood burst into a classroom at the university and killed her professor as she watched, she said.

“They shot hundreds of bullets into him, shouting, ‘God is great!’ ” she said. “At that point, I lost my trust in their god and began to question all our teachings. It was the turning point of my life, and it has led me to this present point. I had to leave. I had to look for another god.”

“clerics in Syria denounced her as an infidel. One said she had done Islam more damage than the Danish cartoons mocking the Prophet Muhammad.”

He doesn’t know how very right he was!!! (This is why I couldn’t resist the rejoicing “Halelu Yah”!)A word of truth spoken at the right time, in the right tone is by far more powerful than any bomb known to man. And can bring about more positive change! Just look at the change brought about by the One, Yahshua/Jesus! His word was,is and will always be His sword! Shabbat Shalom!

Bloviator, thank you for that. It portrays another side that needs to be seen. However, it also portrays Dr. Sultan as an uneducated “flip flop” which I do not buy for an instant. The important thing is…She recognizes evil for what it is. Evil.
Much of Islam is not evil, this is what the clerics should be bringing to the forefront, they have much to sort out. When men commit violent acts screaming “our god is great” They are NOT praising the God of Abraham, the Torah, nor the Gospels!

Virginia, Islam is a evil religion of hate, domination, discrimination and savagery. Please read Qu’ran (Koran) with Tafseer (commentary) and hadith collections (spoken tradition regarding words and acts of the “prophet”) first, please read biography of Muhammad written by his follower Ibn Ishaq - “Sirat rasul Allah”. Muhammad taught to: kill indifiels (pagans), discriminate (zhimmi) “people of the book” - Jews and Christians, wage “holy war” in the name of his evil deity Allah until there is no other religion and no other god, he allowed his companions and every muslim to commit savage acts on unbelievers (for example right hand booty - sex slaves and rapes during jihad), to terrorize them, to deceive them (read more about islamic doctrin al Taqyyiah) etc.

Muhammad bin Abdullah himself was a criminal, psychopath, liar, rapist, child abuser, murderer, warmonger etc. There could not be good fruits from bad tree. A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit.

Slavornir, This was quite a challenge, please know, my response is as much for me as it is for you.
As a Christian, I was taught to hate the sin, but love the sinner. Seperating the two can be an incredible challenge to say the least. Three things really help me to do this: 1) Acknowledging that we are ALL made from dust; we all have the very same emotional AND spiritual vulnerabilities. I am sure you’ve heard it said, “there, but by the grace of God, go I” 2) The God of ALL creation is Sovereign over ALL. Yes, even Satan. Read the book of Job, see how Satan had to ask permission to go against Job and God gave Satan limitations, just as He does the ocean tide! And God said, “The deceived and the deceiver are mine” 3) I recite often, Ephesians 6:12 “For our Struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” This is why Messiah told us to return evil with good and love and pray for our enemies. The stories I could tell of putting this in practice are amazing, God really does “step in” and change hearts! We must remember; God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. My best attempt at understanding is to believe that we are being taught how to love like God loves. Love is a far greater force than hate, the stories already been written…Love does win in the end! I did take note that you were judging a “religion” and not a people, I’m glad for that. We have to be very careful to judge the act, and let God judge the individual. If we hope for His mercy, we need to be prepared to accept His mercy upon others. When we are reading scripture or looking at another, so much of what we see has everything to do with, what it is inside ourselves. So we must be sure we’ve removed the plank before we go for the splinter.

I see Virginia that you are a good person. I agree with your reasons, because I believe in what is written in the Tanakh and especially B’rit Chadashah. Don’t get me wrong - I DO NOT hate muslims,I do not judge them. We are all created from dust, we’re all the same - human beings. Yet, some commit savage acts - it’s the way it is. The world is not perfect. But don’t be fooled by people saying that Islam is a “Religion of Peace”. Don’t believe that “extremists” are the ones responsible for cruelty, barbarity we see. That they (”extremists”) get Islam wrong. It’s a lie, deception called taqyyia or just wishes of those muslims, who are humane enough to cast aside inhumane parts of Islam.

I’m just pointing out that Muhammad was commiting abominable crimes. I’m saying that his teachings are hateful, violent, contain calls for inhumane acts agains other human beings.

If we are to love muslims we should show them light, the light of our Savior and Creator, Yahshua. We should make them see, that they are misled by evil, demon possesed man, calling himself “mercy for the world”, while commiting rapes, killings, lootings etc.

If you’re interested and want to read further (but don’t have enough time to waste reading thousands of pages of sources) I encourage you to read materials written by Ali Sina and his crew on http://www.faithfreedom.org (atheist/ex-muslim perspective on Islam) or to visit http://www.prophetofdoom.net (christian perspective)

God Bless You, keep Yahshua first

Slavomir, Thank you for this, I will look at those sites. You never came across as “hating Muslims or judging” them; I did take note of that. And you are right about the “light” we must shine. I also believe that what we see among Muslims goes far beyond those who are “humane enough not to be inhumane” There are many who can see evil for evil and are just terrified, literally crippled by fear, unable to confront it. They’re the ones I cry for and plead for. And I tell myself, God is in control, He knows what He is doing, He is the Alpha and the Omega; at the end of the day, He will not utter a single “oops”. One day our eyes will be open and we’ll understand and witness the renewal of all things. So pray with me for them and let us remember, Yahshua said, “Blessed are you Simon, Son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.” [Matthew 16:17] We can plant and water, only God can make it grow!

God bless you too Slavomir, Yahshua (a/k/a the Word of God) first, we’ll praise Him together!

    Gratefully His,

  9. I encourage you to read this and think about the differences in beliefs. Historically, Islam has shown itself to be far more tolerant towards Christianity and Judaism than vice versa. Devout traditional Muslims actually accept that Christianity and Judaism have some merit as they accept Jesus as a prophet, and recognize all of the Judaic prophets. I think the traditional hatred towards Islam is borne out by some on this thread ;-)

Thank you for this, it is real informative. What so many do not understand is that it is the Word that santifies the Name. And it is the Word of our Creator that will santify the people according to His purposes. Where the Words are not in harmony is where we need to take a closer look.

    Hi The Bloviator,
I am sure you did not read the Quran.
To know about Islam, do not read any other document, you will see 2 extremes, those are interpretations, so who is correct? Many people including the majority of Muslims knew about Islam through another person, e.g. imam, islamic scholar, mullah…The only source and the true source is the Quran, the Hadith, especially the Hadith becuase you will see it actually contradict what was written in the Quran. Go investigate yourself if possible read from cover to cover. My understanding of Islam is since day one it is already a religion associate with terror, war & bloodshed. Muhamad ordered his followers to cast terror in the hearts of innocent people 3.151 & 8.12 and he boasted that he became victorious with terror. Let me quote some of the verses of the Quran :
8:12 We’ll cast terror into the hearts of non-muslims. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
3:28 Let not the Muslim take for friends or helpers the no-Muslim.
8:65 Rouse the Muslim to fight against non-Muslim.
9:5 Then fight and slay the non-Muslim wherver ye find them.
9:14 Fight the non-Muslim, and god will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame.
9:23 O ye the Muslim take not for protectors your fathers and your brothers if they hate Islam.
9:28 O ye the Muslim! Truly the non-Muslim are unclean.
9:123 O ye Muslim ! fight the non-Muslim who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you.
47:4 Therefore, when ye meet the non-Muslim, smite at their necks ; atlength.
Islam was born with the idea that it should rule the world.Jews and Christians could live under Islam provided the paid poll tax and accepted Islamic superiority. Of course, they had to be humiliated. And Jews and Christians living under Islam are humiliated to this very day. If Jews and Christians don’t want to live under the rules of Islam, then Islam has to fight them and this fighting is called JIHAD. Jihad means war against those people who don’t want to accept the Islamic superior rule. Tha’s Jihad. The reward for jihad when a Muslim died is he will go to heaven and there will be 72 virgins, river of wine and pearl like boys for them to enjoy.Any territory that comes under Islamic rule cannot be de-islamized. Even if at one time or another, the (non-muslim)enemy take over the territory that was under Islamic rule.it is considered to beperpetually Islamic. And peace can only exist between Muslim and Muslim. With the non-Muslim world or opponents, there can be only one solution - a cease fire until Muslim can gain power or stronger and war will start again. It is an eternal war until the end of the days. Peace can only come if Islamic side wins. I keep hearing the politically correct term of - good muslim, moderate muslim, progressive muslim, radical muslim . . . NO, there is only ONE Muslim and to be a Muslim you have to follow what the Quran says . . . well I can go on and on, just go read the Quran & hadith, find out the truth yourself. Good luck.

I agree with Slavomir & Eugene. I am from an Islamic country but I’m a Christian. There is a lot of difference in the concept of value between the West & Muslim. Go visit the http://www.faithfreedom.org, it is important that we know what we are dealing with.

I would say, let’s put a harp player on every corner of the land, and in addition to that, pray for those to “hear” (take to heart)…

When Messiah said, “For I say unto you,Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say,
Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.” Matt.23:39 He was not referring to what we call Him (Yahshua, Yeshua, Iesous, Jesus, etc.)
Exchange “name” for “word”. Again, it is the word that santifies the name, not the other way around.

Indeed, it is important to know what we are dealing with. It is even more important to know Who is capable. Not we ourselves, though His glory may be upon us, it is His Glory that has conquered!

You will not achieve your goal by making Islam synonymous with evil. King David was subject to evil spirits, as was the Apostle Peter. As is every human being. We need to make the Word of God synonymous with who we are. We need to understand the effect of judging others and the effect of our inability to forgive. We need to understand the power of the spoken word and choose very carefully the words we speak. If we are not careful with our thoughts, how can we guard our tongue? There is only One with superiority and He DOES rule the world. He did not create us to “Lord over us”. He created us, to love us, that we may be one with Him and with one another. This can only be achieved through HIS Word. If the words do not lead us in this direction, it is safe to say, they are NOT His.

The problem with muslim world & those islam apologists is they prefer to read things from islamic scholars, listen to mullahs, imam & those western apologist when the only true sourse is the Quran, Hadith, Syrat ( history of prophet & his companions), these are not stories narrated by Jews. These are stories counted by the followers of Muhammad, people who believed in him and love him. Only when you read the Quran, Hadith & Syrat you will realized all those books written by the islamic scholars, western apologists, words from the mullahs & Imam are propagandas. Read the Quran then read the Hadith if you want to know the real Islam.Do not look at Islam from western point of view or based on estern value.
