Also, I am aware that those who do commit suicide bombings believe that this is their "defense".
I don't buy it for two reasons: 1) It didn't stop with the Gaza withdraw and 2) They are taught that this kind of death makes them a martyr and there is heavenly reward. This is the epitome of deceived thinking that comes from thinking they have to save themselves. God is not their savior. They have not been able to discern who gives life and who brings distruction in an attempt to rise above God's throne. I pray for them too. How different things would be if they sought to know God and let God be God.

No, indeed he did not die in vain. Israel's fighting is not aggression. It is defensive. I was referring to those who strap bombs to themselves to make a point. I was reffering to those that "throw the first punch", those that really believe war is the only way to get what they want. Thank you both for giving me opportunity to clarify. My eyes are wide open to what you are up against there. I pray for you constantly.

Virginia,

Israeli soldiers do not die in vain. They all feel an obligation to serve, and when a young soldier dies, it's doubly painful - for both those he leaves behind, and the rest of the nation as well. These brave young men were fighting to end the menace of an organization bent on Isael's destruction. War is never pretty, and isn't glorious. But what can be said is that Lt. Schreir (if this is the one you are referring to, gave his life so that we in Israel can carry on. So he definitey did not die in vain!

Surprise, surprise! That "lovable" Sheikh Narshalah has now surfaced in Damascus! He is being given VIP treatment there as well - probably already having tea with exiled Hamas leader Khalid Mashaal.

People in Israel really must have been naive to think he would stick around and get clobbered in some bunker like A. Hitler at the end of WWII.

This man will probably live to be 90, much to the chagrin of all - especially Israel!

Never is it glorious to die for one's belief's when the one is an attacker. That just goes beyond all sense and sensibility. If there is any glory to be had, it would most certainly go to the one who stood for their faith even in the presence of death. There is a difference between standing firm and attacking. So what the attacker so despartely seeks thay are actually surrendering to the other totally unaware. If people could just be still, the truth will stand, the lies will fall away...wheather we're still or not.
