Phone Use Instructions Israel 1925
Translated excerpts:

Post, Telegraph and Telephone Palestine
How to use an automatic telephone.

In order to get a call in Jerusalem or Bethlehem. Pick up the receiver and listen to the sound that indicates you can start dialing. Insert finger in the hole indicating the first number required, turn the dial until you reach the stop and then remove the finger so the dial can return to its place. Do this for each number in the telephone number……

At the end of the instruction sheet we have a table with an explanation of the automatic sounds:

Sound of the Dial Turning / A light humming sound FRRRRRRRRRRRR / This means you should start dialing.

Ringing Sound / Brrr Brrr – Brrr Brrr / The number you dialed is receiving the call.

Engaged Sound / A loud alternating sound is heard ZZZ ZZZZZ ZZZZZ ZZZZ / The number you dialed is busy

Sound of Unavailable Number / Loud continuous sound ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ / The number dialed is not working, disconnected or not in use.

I hope you all got that !!!
