"Here in the United States (Grand Rapids, Michigan) we are fortunate to have Israel fighting our battles in the Middle East. Whatever aid we are able to give the people of Israel is well spent money."

What do you mean, "whatever aid"?

The US Govt. approved a 30 billion USD military support package for Israel, beginning in 2007 and running for 10 years.

One may therefore assume that the weapons being used in this war are paid for partially by US taxpayers.

Just like, presumably, the weapons Hamas is using are being paid for by other - more shadowy - supporters.

Funny thing, that. Both sides fighting wars for other people.

And neither of them winning.

There are no massacres in Gaza. If we wanted to, we could have killed a million people, not a few hundred terrorists and some innocent civilians. It's time to stand up and do what has to be done, not to "negotiate" with homicidal killers whose to do list reads 1) Destroy Israel 2) Destroy Israel 3) Destroy Israel

Walk a yard in our moccasins, and you'll sing a different tune.

Israel needs to stop the massacre in Gaza. Hamas needs to stop the rockets. However, the rockets have killed a handful of people while Israel's offensive has killed hundreds. Either way, its unacceptable. Both countries need to negotiate and stop the killing.

There will probably not be any real opportunity for lasting peace in the area before the root cause of the issue is addressed. The Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestine areas in 1948, expelling Palestine civilians and demolishing their homes and villages with bulldozers created the refugee crisis. Aleady on December 11th 1948 the UN demanded in resolution 194 that the refugees should be allowed to return. The refugees must be allowed to return home and have proper financial compensation for confiscated land and demolished homes.
