The British are feeling the pinch in relation to recent bombings and have raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” Londoners have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to a “Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was during the great fire of 1666.
Also, the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from “Run” to “Hide”. The only two higher levels in France are “Surrender” and “Collaborate.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France’s white flag factory, effectively paralysing the country’s military capability.
This was filmed August 12th, 2006. Watch the guns come out as security keeps back the Neo Nazi gang from going after the demonstrators. What would have happened if these guys weren’t there and who is protecting who?
There has been a great deal of discussions on the possible scenario of a pre-emptive missile attack by Iran on the State of Israel. Recent televised events regarding Iran’s reactions to threats imposed by the U.N. Security Council due to the refusal of the Islamic Republic to end it’s nuclear fuel enrichment plans, are beginning to create more than just controversy and mild concern. They are now resulting in ‘alarm bells’ being run by even such people as Pensioner Party leader and government minister Rafi Eitan, who, as a former Mossad security professional, is calling for a massive shelter preparation in Israel in the event that the Iranians and the Americans become involved in a future military conflict. “If Iran and the U.S become involved in a military confrontation, then Israel will be the first to be struck” Eitan was quoted as saying. Summertime is when many individuals and families embark from Israel to relocation assignments at international destinations. Often taken care by the relocating employee’s company, who may have an agreement with a particular relocation and/or moving company, a person embarking on a relocation assignment is now having to share more of the costs, and logistical factors involved in an undertaking that not only is becoming increasingly more expensive, but time consuming as well. A recent group of world Jewish leaders met in Maryland, U.S.A., with the purpose of determining whether World Jewry is on the increase, or in the midst of an irreversible decline. These leaders, which included leaders of organizations such as the World Jewish Congress, the Present’s Conference of American Jewish Organizations, the Anti Defamation League (of Bnei Brit), as well as former Israeli government ministers, such as Natan Shiransky and Sallai Meridor of The Jewish Agency, gathered to reach some kind of conclusion as to where World Jewry will be in next generation – a mere 25 years from now.
Naturally, differing views of opinion, ranging from sharp declines in birthrates among North American Jewry to increased assimilation in many Diaspora Jewish communities, to problems with secular Judaism everywhere (including Israel) were discussed by these leaders. And in nearly every conversation, the future of Jews in Israel was paramount in these discussions. Continue reading
He stood at the podium, the balmy spring breeze gently blowing the flags and banners that were situated on either side of the platform from whence the demonstration would take place. A large contingent of police were busy keeping an angry crowd of protestors at bay, a good 300 meters from where the speaker stood, dressed in brown paramilitary garb. In the open area in front of the platform, around two hundred people had gathered to listen to the message that would come from this man, a graying, mustached gentleman with a pronounced ‘middle age paunch’. Many of the spectators appeared to be misfits from society: skinheads, simple working folk, overweight, unemployed school dropouts, abused housewives, and others who wanted to be ‘enlightened’ by the message they would hear. But many others appeared to be very normal, middle class citizens who were apparently dissatisfied with the direction their government was leading them. And for that reason, they had come to listen.
Then the man began to speak, his loud, angry voice rising and lowering in pitch in accordance to the mood of his listeners; and to the chagrin of the protestors being kept at bay. Waving his arms and pointing to the groups of protestors being held back by an increasingly nervous police force, the leader told his audience regarding who he held responsible for their grievances.
“It is the Communists and the Jews who are causing your children to go hungry and your debts to keep mounting. They hold the power and pay off the politicians to do their bidding! They (the Jews) control the money and own the properties you live in and charge you outrageous rents, while letting the rats run free and attack your families. And they (pointing to ‘the Communists’ holding protest signs) make your beautiful Aryan children attend schools with racially inferior sub-humans.”
He stopped, looked over his audience who appeared to be hanging on his very words, waiting to hear what their leader’s solutions were to all their problems. “We, the National Socialists, protectors of the Aryan Race; we will make this country strong again! We will chase out all these rodents who sap your strength and will to fight”
With his right arm raised in front of him he screamed: “Zeig Heil! Zeig Heil!”
And his audience followed suit accordingly.
This event did not occur in a ‘bier gartin’ in Munich, Germany in 1926; or during the last days of the dying Weimar Republic in 1931. It occurred not long ago in Minneapolis Minnesota, on the steps of one of that city’s most prestigious buildings. It occurred in a nation that gives its citizens the constitutional right of freedom of speech and assembly. This group had a police permit to hold their rally, making their presence there perfectly legal and entitled to full protection against the ‘rabble’ being restrained by police wearing riot gear and carrying clubs and tear gas. And the event occurred after the 9-11 terror attacks in Washington DC and New York City. Interesting enough, Muslims were never mentioned once by this self-proclaimed ‘Fuehrer’, possibly because they possess much of the oil remaining in the world, and because they, the Arabs have the same hatred toward the one group particularly singled out by this modern day group of “National Socialists” – The Jews.
There is a famous saying that goes like this: “They who do not learn from the lessons of history, are doomed to repeat them”. Judging from the above incident in America’s Heartland, no truer words could ever have been spoken.
This video was shot in a similar NSM88 event in Lansing, Michigan – It is edited by an Israeli user on YouTube.
WHO SITS WITH US AT OUR SEDER? HAGGADAH SUPPLEMENT 5766
Eloheinu v’Elohei Kadmoneinu (Avoteinu, Avoteinu vEmoteinu), our God and God of our ancestors, we are gathered around this seder table as b’nei khorin , free people who still remember the long years of oppression. We have vowed never to become oppressors ourselves. Yet, we know how easy it is to harden our hearts to those who have paid an excessive price for our people’s prosperity and security. On this Feast of Freedom we know that to be truly free we must banish Pharaoh from our hearts and reaffirm our commitment to honor God’s Image in every human being. Recalling the midwives of old, we know that the seeds of redemption are planted when we oppose Pharaoh’s command.
Tonight we leave a place at our table for those who remain victims of oppression. We renew our commitment to winning their freedom, thereby insuring ours. We particularly remember: (Choose one or more)
A. The Hungry
As we declare Kol Dikhfeen, “Let all who are hungry come and eat,” we know that a rising number of Israelis feel the pangs of hunger. Recalling the four children of the haggadah, we know that 20-25% of Israeli children and youth go to bed hungry at least one night a week. Fear for our own economic well being has perhaps hardened our hearts to the plight of the weakest elements of our society. This year the Israeli Wisconsin Plan has removed for many the last remnants of an unraveling security net. Under the threat of losing their meager benefits because of “non-cooperation,” the elderly and ill are forced to engage in “volunteer” physical labor as “community service” and travel long distances to unrealistic job interviews. Without provisions for child care, single parents are required to leave young children alone at home in order to attend evening courses. Without being given any language training, new immigrants are expected to succeed in Hebrew language jobs. Instead of inviting the hungry to come and eat, we have justified budget cuts by viewing those less fortunate than ourselves as strangers, entirely responsible for their plight. Continue reading
