The Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Sunday, world powers will only achieve results with Iran, if they adopt a “realistic approach.â€
The Iranians obviously define: realistic, differently than the West.
Currently the name of the game is further sanctions for Iran, and diplomats from the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China held a three-hour meeting this week, to speak about just that.
The new sanctions are a response after Iran ignored US President Barack Obama‘s Dec 31, 2009, deadline to acknowledge an offer from the six powers of economic and political incentives in exchange for halting its nuclear enrichment activities.
The thought, as we all know or suspect, is that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of its civilian atomic program – the West and its allies just ain’t buying the innocent shpeel, should they be? Iran, the world’s fifth-largest crude exporter, maintains that its program is designed to generate electricity.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, criticized the international community Monday for discriminating against Iran, while ignoring
“the hundreds of nuclear warheads stockpiled in the Zionist regime’s reactors.â€
HAH!
Speaking at a Tehran conference on the Persian Gulf states Mottaki said:
“States that signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty are being unlawfully banned from using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes…The Zionist regime is causing insecurity and instability in the region and, unfortunately, for years US leaders have based their foreign policy on guaranteeing its security…[Iran will] always stand by the legitimate resistance of the oppressed before the aggressive superpowers”.
