Let’s Wait and See

Jeremy Ben-Ami, founder of the J Street Lobby told the Jerusalem Post Israel should be patient with the newfangled Palestinian Authority, jointly ruled by a new Fatah-Hamas unity government.

“Jumping out to say either this is a terrible thing or good thing is in our opinion not the wisest move, and the real question is, what this new alignment really going to stand for and what is it going to do, and that we don’t know…”

In other words, perhaps Hamas, who commenced last week, as Jonathan S. Tobin wrote in Commentary Magazine, by mourning the death of Osama bin Laden, will now reform their violent jihadist reputation. Let’s wait and see.

This does not paint Ben-Ami as a total idiot. Thomas L. Friedman accused Israel of being ingrates to their American big brother when calling off the east Jerusalem and West Bank building moratorium, instead of giving the PA, just two more months. Let’s wait and see what happens.

While Abbas was meeting with Netanyahu, Mubarak, Clinton, Obama and others last summer, Hamas commissioned 13 Palestinian militant groups to sabotage the peace talks.

On August 31, 2010, 4 Israeli settlers, including one pregnant woman, were shot dead by Hamas militants while driving on Route 60 near the settlement Kiryat Arba.

Back up. After Hamas won elections in 2006 after the Gaza Strip was ceded out by Israel, Mahmoud al-Zahar, Hamas’ co-founder did not rule out the possibility of acquiescing a “temporary two-state solution,” however, that same sentence was followed by the declaration of his dream of, “hanging a huge map of the world on the wall at my Gaza home which does not show Israel on it.” In the same year, Ishmael Haniyeh, Hamas’ chairman said Hamas was willing to declare a truce which could last up to 20 years, however, “Hamas will never recognize the usurper Zionist government and will continue jihad-like movement until the liberation of Jerusalem.”

Article 7 of the Hamas charter gives the following citation attributed to Mohammed:

“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.”

Article 22 declares the French revolution, the Russian revolution, colonialism and both world wars were created by the Zionists:

“You may speak as much as you want about regional and world wars. They were behind World War I, when they were able to destroy the Islamic Caliphate, making financial gains and controlling resources. They obtained the Balfour Declaration, formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains by trading in armaments, and paved the way for the establishment of their state. It was they who instigated the replacement of the League of Nations with the United Nations and the Security Council to enable them to rule the world through them. There is no war going on anywhere, without having their finger in it.”

Article 32 of the charter says:

“Today it is Palestine, tomorrow it will be one country or another. The Zionist plan is limitless. After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion…”

Ben-Ami forgot to consider that Hamas is still considered by the American government, aside from being some kind of cohort of Jimmy Carter, a terrorist organization. They are blacklisted as a terrorist organization by, the UK, Jordan, Japan, Australia, Canada and the European Union.

There has been no mention by J Street of the almost constant rain of rockets in 2011. Throughout 2010, over 235 Grad missiles, Qassam rockets and mortar shells were fired from the Gaza Strip at Israeli civilian targets.

To trust anything Ishmayil Haniyeh or anyone affiliated with Hamas says would be like trusting Syrian President, Bashir al-Assad, when he says missions to stop uprisings and emergency laws have been called off.

Let’s wait and see.

The War on Terror Chapter Two

Of Hamas

Last Tuesday, Fatah and Hamas signed a preliminary unity deal with Hamas and 11 other factions in Egypt. This happened one day after Hamas mourned the eradication of Osama Bin Laden. A formal ceremony is held this Wednesday.

Khaled Mashaal, the number one leader of Hamas who has been living in Syria since his exile from Jordan last year, arrived in Egypt on Sunday as Fatah and Hamas for meeting concerning the new unity government.

Islamic Jihad as well as other terrorist organizations were present for the signing; President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, sent a representative for the preliminaries. He is scheduled to arrive for the formal signing ceremony Wednesday.

Mashaal’s deputy, Musa Abu Marzouk, told reporters:

“We won’t recognize the Zionist entity. Our rights are still usurped and it’s illogical for us to recognize the Zionist entity because that would be at the expense of our stolen lands and our people in the refugee camps…Most of the Arab countries don’t recognize Israel, and yet they continue to deal with the international community…”

Osama bin LadenMeanwhile, Hamas are not the only local yokels denouncing America’s execution of Osama bin laden. Israeli MK, Ibrahim Sarsoor, of the Arab party, Ra’am Ta’al, called the assassination a murder.

In a statement to the press he said:

“The mixing of Arab and Muslim blood into election campaigns in the U.S. and Israel is no longer uncommon…Anyone who follows the cycle of blood and elections in American-Israeli culture in the last ten years will see it clearly and without a doubt….I cannot rule out that the murder of Bin Laden was the start of Obama’s election campaign for a second term, especially in view of the fact that the Republican majority in Congress is waiting to pounce on him over his political steps on both foreign and internal affairs…The murder of Sheikh Bin Laden must cause us to pause and consider not only the event itself, but also what stands behind the action, so that we raise the hard questions whose time has come.”

The New York Times reported Hamas’ mourning of Bin Laden; but an Israeli Arab MK? well…

“The Arab nation has taken its first steps toward its second independence through the revolutions against the oppressive regimes…The West in general and the US in particular should learn the lessons as soon as possible. Even if it murders jihad leaders and spills the blood of pure innocents in Arab and Muslim countries, topples regimes and replaces them with ones more loyal to it, the US will not succeed in changing the feelings of hatred of our nation toward it, especially on the Palestinian question.”

Sound like extreme Muslimism? Vitriol, almost? Repeated attempts to block Sarsoor’s, Ra’am Ta’al, party from running in the Knesset have been blocked by the Israeli Supreme Court.

Osama bin Laden’s regime, al Qaeda has networks around Israels’ borders in Lebanon, the Gaza Strip and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. Al Qaeda cells based in the Gaza Strip carried out many armed attacks launched on the Gaza-Israeli border and Jewish civilian locations. For instance, the murder of Italian pro-Palestinian activist, Vittorio Arrigoni, on April 14 was an “operation” commanded by an al Qaeda operative from Jordan named, Abdul Rahman al-Briziti.

Counter-terror sources at DebkaFile revealed that Al Qaeda’s units:

“Are ensconced in the southern, central and northeastern sectors of the Gaza Strip: The southern cluster is based in the northern and southern districts of Khan Younis, a town of 220,000 inhabitants 4 kilometers east of the Mediterranean coast and 1.5 kilometers from the Israeli border…A second group more or less controls the town of Deir al Balakh, a town of 150,000 in the central region. A third is embedded in the Zaitun and Nuseyrat districts of Gaza City.”

Debkafile’s counter-terror sources reported that:

“These Al Qaeda operatives have built themselves at least six fortified villas in those three locations. Like the Abbottabad villa-fortress where Osama bin Laden was killed Sunday night by a team of US Seals, the Gaza villas have top security and dominate the surrounding skylines…The success of the American, Israeli and Egyptian agencies in foiling a major terrorist attack in Sinai was played down by Washington and Jerusalem, conduct that deserves an explanation in the new anti-al Qaeda climate.”

Hamas’ de facto head honcho, Ismayil Haniyeh, was the only Muslim leader in the world to “bluntly condemn” the United States for killing Osama bin Laden.

Ismail al-Ashqar, a Hamas lawmaker, described the long-awaited capture and execution as “state terrorism that America carries out against Muslims.”

DebkaFile reported that:

“In private conversations, Hamas leaders confess that they really do regard the United States as the worst and most blood-stained oppressor of Middle East Arabs, aside from Israel. Despite their ideological differences, they genuinely regard Al Qaeda and its fighters as heroic mujahedin and prized allies.”

On Wednesday, May 4, Khaled Meshaal will fly into Cairo from the Hamas headquarters in Damascus to meet Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and concertize a unity pact.

Of Egypt

Meanwhile, Egyptian Finance Minister, Samir Radwan, has been quoted saying the 1979 Israel-Egypt peace treaty, which in post Mubarak Egypt does not “obligate his country to sell natural gas to the Jewish State.”

In an interview with a local newspaper during a visit to Kuwait last Sunday, Radwan stressed that gasoline prices must be updated and adjusted to the price levels of the global market, regardless of whether the exports go to Jordan, Israel, Syria or Spain.

Of Osama Bin Laden

A Kuwaiti man called Abu Ahmad is reportedly the inadvertent source that led the United States to the al Qaeda mastermind’s hideout Last July.

The DailyBeast reported:

“CIA operatives tracked the man while he was driving a white Suzuki in Pakistan.Eventually, the courier led them right to the sprawling mansion where bin Laden had been hiding. The most recent cache of WikiLeaks files related to Guantanamo Bay turns up Ahmad’s name several times. The Kuwaiti is linked closely to Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a key planner of the 9/11 attacks. It’s not clear whether he was at the compound during the raid.”

In 2003, the American government released pictures of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussein, however, only after their bodies had been worked on by a mortician. The United States is debating whether to release the photos of a dead Osama bin Laden in order to squash rampant conspiracy theories. The haste with which the corpse was thrown into the sea seems strange to many inquisitive citizens.

Dear Mr. Netanyahu and Barak, Time to Replace West Bank Checkposts

The five members of the Israeli family murdered at Itamar, 1:00 a.m. Shabbat morning were Udi Fogel, 38; Ruth Fogel, 35; Yoav 11; Elad, 3; and Hadas, four-months old. They are survived by Roi, 8; Yishai, 2; and sister Tamar, 12, who discovered her family, butchered, when arriving home late that night. Security officials in the settlement did not know of the incident until three hours after it happened.

The family moved to Itamar in the “West Bank,” after Jewish communities were forcibly evicted from the Gaza Strip in 2007; part of the Sharon government’s disengagement.

Hamas networks have been regrouping in Judea and Samaria for the purpose of attacking and kidnapping Israelis on either side of the Green Line. Several Palestinians were detained recently at the few remaining “West Bank” checkposts with pipe bombs, knives and fire bombs.

Leading up to last fall’s failed peace talks, U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had pressured Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak to grant West Bank Palestinians nearly unrestricted freedom of movement and generous aid for their economic development.

Last September, on the eve of peace negotiations in Washington, a loan Palestinian gunman fired at a vehicle traveling on Route 60 near the entrance to Kiryatr Arba. The victims were Yitzhak Ames, 47, and his wife Tali Ames, 45; Kochava Even-Haim, 37, and Avishai Schindler, 24. The ames had six children, including a toddler of one-and-a-half years.

Hamas was responsible for that attack. Hamas hailed the murder of the Fogel family, whose throats were slashed, as “a heroic operation.” The attack was the initial result of an Iran-funded secret conference in Khartoum last week of the heads of the national branches of the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to one source:

“Iranian intelligence officers attending the conference used the occasion to set up direct contacts with Brotherhood leaders who came from Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Syria, Jordan, Great Britain. The Palestinian delegation representing Hamas-Gaza was headed by Mahmoud A-Zahar and Hamas-Damascus headed by Khaled Meshaal.”

Both PA Prime Minister, Salam Fayyad, and Abu Mazen condemned the action. However, Netanyahu accuses them of “hypocritically mouthing peace slogans abroad while promoting anti-Israel incitation and propaganda on a daily basis in Palestinian schools and mosques.”

Netanyahu said in a statement:

“I noticed that some of the states that rushed to the Security Council to condemn Israel, the Jewish State, for planning to build a home somewhere, are slow in issuing a harsh condemnation over the murder of Jewish babies…There’ is no justification whatsoever, no excuse and no forgiveness for the murder of babies.”

Officials of the Prime Minister’s Office are pondering the option of releasing grotesque photographs of the terror attack aftermath in Itamar to the foreign media. Photographs are not usually published in Israel following terror attacks. Should such protocol be overturned, Israel’s Government Press Office will hand over the photographs to global media outlets.

Fundamentalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Fundamentalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina probably deserves more attention as a sociological and political phenomenon, than it does in other European countries. It is a country with a very weak democratic and parliamentary tradition, until 15 years ago Bosnia suffered from extremely destructive war which in this case was more than just a civil war. The territory of the country was literally trampled by many paramilitary forces and by ambiguous political regimes from both inside of country and the neighborhood. Today, Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the rare European countries with a Muslim majority, struggles with a difficult political system, an economy that is in an unsustainable state. It has huge unemployment and corruption rates and the highest illiteracy rate in Europe. This small country is comprised of three constitutive peoples: Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, which are characterized by three different and strong religious communities: Muslims, Orthodox Christians and Catholic Christians.

Many of European and domestic officials have for some time believed that Bosnia might be the potential zone of rising terrorism. The terrorist attack in the town of Bugojno on the 27th of June and the case of the village of Gornja Maoca where, on the 2nd of February, Special Forces of Bosnian security agencies entered the isolated Wahhabi community are a few major incidents which exemplify the rise of Fundamentalism in Bosnia in 2010.

Fundamentalism seems to be growing in the country, notably among the youth and even in the youth intellectual circles. Individuals, shaken by uncertainty, search for ways to secure themselves. Several internet based sites promote the alternative ways of surviving. Domestic media promote Fundamentalism often enunciated by people close to clerical institutions.

They don’t belong here, they should go back to the places where they come from… They have nothing to do with Bosnia and Bosnian traditions, they have never existed in Bosnia before the war…

Said Samra, a 22 year old student of Sociology, about Wahhabi movement members in Bosnia.

There are many Wahhabi followers in Bosnia. They came here from Arab countries during the war. Nobody asked them to come, and they should return… They are destroying the dignity of Bosnian people…

Samra added.

Male members of Wahhabi movement are easily recognizable on the street by their specific wardrobe and their long beards. Females are required to wear a hijab. It is widely believed, as Samra said, that members of Wahhabi and other similar groups came to Bosnia from the Middle East. This is actually not true. Most of them, about 97%, are domestic or from neighborhood countries.

It’s not about ideology, it is about surviving. Everybody knows that every girl that ’covers’ herself gets money, I don’t know how much, but they say it’s about 300 euro’s per month. Anyone can do it, even me…

Said Selma, 21, other student from the University of Sarajevo, but she fails to say where that money comes from.

When analyzing diverse forms of Fundamentalism there is one other term that is used a lot in the field and that is the notion of supremacy, although the groups following this ideology of supremacy usually avoid this term and often identify them self’s as a part of Neo-Nazi movement.

In the Bosnia’s case, things are more specific. First of all there is an anti-Semitism, motivated mainly by the emphasized empathy of Bosnian Muslims exclusively with Muslims from Israel and Palestine. Many of Bosnian Muslim citizens are very critical of Israeli political decisions, and often blame Jewish people globally for most of today’s World’s problems. The wars on the Middle East are seen as pure aggression and never as a multisided conflict or civil war caused by complex dynamics on the region. There is actually inflexibility in the reasoning of the majority which is often governed by the notion of Muslims brotherhood and not by the fact that there are people belonging to no matter what ethnicity in the Middle East who are affected by or involved in war. Such deviation and generalization lead often to increasing of the prejudices’ against Jewish people, and fit into the concept of Neo-Nazi ideology.

Bosnian Movement of National Pride is a Neo-Nazi group represented in February 2010 in Bosnia. Aside of proclaiming Jews as their enemies, this group lists many others: Gypsies, ex-Yugoslavian president and Communist leader Josip Broz Tito, Communists, homosexuals and blacks, than Chetniks (Serbian nationalist paramilitary organization), Croatian separatists and even radical Islamists. This group launched the site, where they declared radical views about Bosnian constitution, and made announcements of their future actions. Yet again, they are blaming the Zionists for the current disrupted state in the World.

Today I went to buy my breakfast before going to my Faculty, but I didn’t know what to buy. Everything is produced by Jews. There was one ‘free’ Serbian company that produces food, but recently Jews bought it too. I don’t want to buy anything that is made by Jews. I don’t want to sponsor an evil.

Says Amela, Medical student from Sarajevo.

In general, Bosnian Fundamentalism is most often associated with Islamic terrorism. It is believed that Fundamentalism in Bosnia is getting stronger every day because of the lack of the political will to resolve the problem, and because of desperate economic circumstances that are getting worse with the time.

Bosnian politicians are not aware of the urgency and size of the problem, and in rare moments when they are, they are using it for their political aims…

Said Nihad, professor from Sarajevo, after Bugojno terrorist attack in June.

Such situations are defining more and more the image of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe and the rest of the World. Government officials recently stated that there are three thousands of potential terrorists in the country.

It remains to be seen if freshly formed Government can change directions of ideological temptations in Bosnian society. It is believed, also, that the travel visa free regime, that Bosnia is about to reach in few months, will assist in opening up communications and help to deflect people from fundamentalist ideas.

Can Peace Really Be Just a Stone’s Throw Away?

Last Sunday marked the 38th anniversary of the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the Olympic games in Munich, Germany. On September 5th, 1972, PLO terrorists slaughtered the young men after a botched rescue attempt by German commandos.

The victims’ names: Mark Slavin, David Berger, Kahat Shore, Eliezer Halfin, Andrey Shpitzer, Yosef Guttfreund, Zev Friedman, Amitzur Shapira, Moshe Weinberg, Yosef Romano and Yacov Springer are now immortalized in a big budget, 2005 motion picture by American film director, Steven Spielberg, appropriately called, “Munich.”

Meanwhile, disgruntled Islamists fired at a vehicle carrying Israeli Border Police on Monday, near the Arab town of Kalansawa, actually located in central Israel. Two of the policemen were wounded and taken to Kfar Saba’s Meir Hospital where they recovered.

On Sunday, a two-year-old baby was wounded slightly when Arabs hurled rocks at a car driving in Halhoul, north of Hevron. The child was evacuated to Shaarei Tzedek hospital in Jerusalem.

Last Thursday, a 12-year-old girl from Har Bracha was wounded in a rock-throwing ambush near Ariel. On Friday she underwent head surgery at the Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petach Tikva. She is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

And last week, two days after Hamas shooters opened fire at a car near Kiryat Arba killing four Israeli civilians, more shots were fired at a vehicle traveling in the area between the settlement Kochav Yaakov and Rimonim Junction, wounding two more Israeli civilians, also in the West Bank last Wednesday.

According to the IDF Twitter feed on September 3:

“30 rioters in Bi’lin hurled rocks @ security forces who responded using riot dispersal means and 50 rioters gathered in Ni’lin hurled rocks @ security forces + burning tires @ the security fence.”

Because of these incidents, the United States has temporarily banned its diplomats from traveling to the West Bank and even Jerusalem’s Old City.

Also, overnight Monday, in response to the West Bank terrorist aggression, the Israel Air Force struck a terror tunnel and two smuggling tunnels in the southern Gaza Strip. The terror tunnel was being used for infiltration into Israel and executing terror attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians such as the occurrences in the West Bank.

Free Free Palestine

According to Ha’aretz, a U.S.-based pro-Palestinian organization is planning to fly a plane-load of aid to Gaza, in defiance of the Israeli blockade. The flight was originally scheduled for this coming spring.

The California-based Free Palestine Movement which is sponsoring the flight has been linked to the IHH, which sent the floatillas from Turkey in May.

Obviously it would be challenging at best for Israeli forces to intercept an airplane without causing casualties.

Anyway, despite the blockade, according to the IDF Twitter feed on September 1st:

“336 truckloads of food, fuel & gas [legally] entered the Gaza Strip yesterday (112 via Karni + 224 via the Kerem Shalom Crossing).”

For the record, More than 100 rockets and mortars have been fired at Israeli territory since the beginning of 2010, and over 400 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel since the end of Operation Cast Lead.

Mad Lebs

There Goes the Neighborhood

What happens when you become too weak to kill innocent Israeli citizens? Kill innocent American citizens – that is the modus operandi of the Hezbollah, these days.

US Republican Congresswoman, Sue Myrick of North Carolina says that Hezbollah agents are coming to Latin America, learning Spanish and then working with drug cartels in the Mexico-US border region to obtain falsified entry passes for entrance to the US. She warned that the terrorist organization could start threatening the southern United States from Mexico just as it threatens northern Israel from Lebanon.

Well, I guess now those new US state immigration laws are beginning to make more sense.

Myrick, who is a member of the House Intelligence Committee, has called on Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security secretary to look into the matter.

Apparently, the Hezbollah has been operating drug trafficking rings in South America for some years now. The largest one operates along the Brazil-Argentina-Paraguay border.

Well, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez has also befriended the terror group. Just a few years ago he invited Hezbollah to operate freely in his country.

Spy Games

Meanwhile, in Lebanon, whose military has become none other than the Hezbollah itself, President Michel Sleiman said that he would sign death penalties against spies for Israel.

The Lebanese Cabinet has stressed the need to speed up investigations into Israeli spy networks and follow them by rapid verdicts amid increasing pressures by domestic parties after the arrest of an employee at a mobile phone operator on suspicion of spying for the Mossad.

The Lebanese Cabinet met at the Grand Serail and was headed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri.

According to the Constitution in Lebanon, death sentences issued by the judiciary require the joint signature of the president, the premier and the justice minister.
Sleiman also said that spy cells will be subject to strict punishment, stressing that they constituted a violation to UN Resolution 1701, which put an end to the 2006 summer war with Israel.

President Sleiman said:

“I trust verdicts issued by the military court and I will sign them…we should not go backwards; there was a national will in the past to issue lenient sentences … but after the liberation [of occupied Lebanese territories] in 2000, all spying acts and collaboration with Israel should be severely punished.”

Many of the Lebanese who were enrolled in the South Lebanon Army, which fought alongside Israeli forces south of Litani river, prior to the liberation of most of Lebanese occupied territories in 2000, were given lenient sentences when they surrendered to the judiciary following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

But many Lebanese still reside in the Jewish Country for fear that upon their return, they would face life sentences or death penalties.

Beginning in April 2009, Lebanon embarked on a wave of arrests as part of a widespread espionage investigation in which dozens of people have been arrested on suspicion of spying for Israel. Over 20 people have been formally charged, including an army colonel, since.

Last week, a technician from the state-owned mobile phone firm Alfa, Charbel Qazzi, had been detained by the army on suspicion of spying for the Jewish Country. Qazzi was responsible for maintaining equipment that connects cellular network stations.

Well, for all of those arrested for spying, Hezbollah has called for the death penalty.

On the threat posed on Lebanon by Israel, Sleiman said:

“An Israeli aggression against Lebanon is possible but I do not fear it since the issue is not an easy one for Israel.”

Lebanon’s General Prosecutor Saeed Mirza ordered the arrest of three individuals last week, after authorities interrogated them on charges of libel, slander and defamation against the president on one Facebook social networking site.

Sleiman said:

“We should know how to use freedom because when it collides with public conduct and ethics, its practice becomes corrupt … the issue is not a political one but rather an issue of personal insults and slander.”

The real insult, Sleiman will find, is letting Hezbollah take over his country, poisoning it with hate-filled venom and strangling its chances for peace in the region.

On Hezbollah

Hezbollah, the free-world’s formidable foe is back in OneJerusalem news today. Here’s why:
Word on the street is that the Israel Defense Forces have started a one-week-long civil defense drill on sunday.
This drill will partially entail an attack on The Jewish Country’s national water carrier.

Well, Hezbollah is telling their forces to scram!
Terrorist commando turned commander, Nabil Kaouk told it like so:

“A few thousand Hizbullah warriors will not be able to go and vote in next week’s round of local elections.” He warned that were Lebanon to be attacked, “Israelis will not be able to find any place to hide”.

And there’s more:
The Jerusalem Post informs us that the United States of America has “grave concerns” about Hezbollah in Lebanon acquiring arms by one Syrian government.
Israel is positive that Syria has supplied the Hezbollah with hundreds of surface-to-surface missiles, including Scuds and advanced M600s, capable of targeting Tel Aviv.
Lebanon’s Saad Hariri has denied these allegations. And hotly so. He compares this claim to America’s claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction ahead of the 2003 invasion.
White House spokesperson, Robert Gibbs informs us that Barack Obama and Saad Hariri will hold a meeting soon.

The topics on the table will include “broad range of mutual goals in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence, regional peace and security“, (that is rebuilding their military and telling those Hezbollah creeps to take a hike). They are “also likely to discuss international efforts to isolate Iran over its nuclear program.” Until May 31, Lebanon is the president of the UN Security Council.

Happy Birthday Hamas

Happy anniversary to Hamas…Has it really been 22 years already? I guess time flies when you are engaging in guerrilla warfare. To mark the event, hundreds of activists and supporters of the terrorist organization in the West Bank were summoned to several branches of the Palestinian Authority, where it was requested of them to sign a document in which they pledge to refrain from public celebration.

Hamas Birth DayThe PA has taken it upon them self to ban celebrating Hamas’ birthday for the last four years. In Nablus alone, more than 600 Hamas supporters and activists were asked to sign the written statement, promising to refrain from participating or organizing public events. Altogether, about 1,500 men and women have been warned that they would be arrested if they broke the ban.

In the past 48 hours, 25 Hamas supporters were arrested in Nablus, Kalkilya, Ramallah and Hebron. Among the arrested was Muhammad Srour, the former mayor of Ni’lin.

Hamas is planning a mass rally in Gaza City on Monday. Obviously this is under Hamas’s own “jurisdiction.”

The decision to ban Hamas celebrations in the West Bank came just a few weeks after the Palestinian Authority banned Fatah supporters from marking the anniversary of Yasser Arafat’s death.

Hezbollah Operatives Working Against Israel in New York

Israeli security and intelligence got a bit of a wake-up call today, October 27, when an Indian man, living in New York, and his accomplice were charged with providing guns and other weapons to Hezbollah.

hezbollah NYCPatrick Nayyar, 46, who has for years been living illegally in New York City, “agreed to provide weapons, ammunition, vehicles and night vision goggles to Hezbollah operatives in Lebanon” reports the Jerusalem Post.

Nayyar’s accomplice, Conrad Stanisclaus Mulholland, was doing business with an FBI informant, pretending to be a member of Hezbollah. He unknowingly provided the informant with a handgun, a box of ammunition and a pick-up truck, which were supposed to be delivered to a Hezbollah post in Lebanon.

Mullholland has not yet been arrested. And Nayyar was originally pinched at his home in Queens, New York on September 24, on charges of gun and ammunition possession.

An Idea for Getting Gilad Shalit Out of Hamas Hell

If you read this blog religiously, or even secularly but often, then you may have noticed that I don’t cover the Gilad Shalit issue all that often. I don’t give updates, and I generally avoid commenting on the topic. There is a reason for this. I assume, and rightly I believe, that the government of Israel does not need any pressure in order to push a deal through for Shalit. In fact, any pressure exerted by any “Free Gilad” campaign is counterproductive and irresponsible.

giladWhen someone has something you very much want, and you have to pay for it dearly, then to have your friends badger you about making a deal to get it just ups the price. The other side sees you are under pressure, and feels it can increase its demands.

Who are the Free Gilad troupe protesting? More precisely, WHAT are they protesting when they march for Gilad’s release? Are they assuming that the sitting government would rather he sit in his hellhole in Gaza?

The force of their protests is quite Orwellian actually. They say they want Gilad’s release, as if anyone in Israel doesn’t. I say, though they want Gilad’s release, that’s not really what they’re protesting. They’re not rallying against Hamas to free him, as if Haniyeh and Zahar cared at all what the Jews want.

What they’re really doing is protesting the government’s reluctance to release murderers. What they really want is the release of terrorists, nothing else. I’m not blaming them for this. But I am saying that if they want this, then they should be brave and say it, out loud, if that’s what they really believe is best. Stop chanting “Free Gilad” as if you’re talking to Hamas, and start chanting “Free the Murderers!” Use the correct language and picket the Prime Minister’s residence with signs that say “Bibi – release murderers NOW!” Granted, it would look odd and arguably embarrassing. But that’s precisely the point. They don’t want to say what they actually want, because what they really want scares them. They’d rather mask it in language that everyone can agree with but few truly understand. That is, “Free Gilad“.

I’m willing to bet that if this government attempted a rescue operation and Gilad was heaven forbid killed, these groups would protest the incompetency of the government, claiming that “wasn’t what they meant” when they chanted “Free Gilad!” I say, if it’s not what you mean, make it clear starting now. Chant in favor of releasing 1,000 murderers, and then at least you are being honest with yourselves and with us.

But here’s my idea. It was reported today in several papers that Israel does indeed know exactly where Shalit is being held. The problem is, the building is surrounded with explosives that will be detonated by remote if soldiers get too close. Now, of course I haven’t worked out a whole plan by any means. But part of what needs to be done in a possible rescue attempt would be to shoot an electromagnetic pulse that would shut down any electronic transmissions in the area, making remote detonation impossible.

They’d have to clear the area of as many terrorists as possible beforehand, and it wouldn’t be easy. I’m willing to admit that it would probably fail. But I think it would be smarter than releasing 1,000 terrorists around Palestinian election time to ensure a Hamas victory and trigger a third intifada, with many more kidnappings in the cards.

Jihadi Terrorists Swoon Over Rosie O’Donnell

RosieSome of the deadliest Palestinian terror leaders have come out to praise Rosie O’Donnell, saying her theories on 9/11 and the Bush administration are spot on. The people applauding the former co-star of “The View” are known terrorists and murderers, such as Ala Senakreh, who have not only planned and executed terrorist attacks against civilians but also developed the global terror strategies used in Iraq, the US and the UK.

“I agree with everything O’Donnell said,” boasted Ramadan Adassi, chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in the West Bank’s Anskar refugee camp.

Adassi’s terrorist boss, Ala Senakreh, went one step further and invited O’Donnell to come spend some time with them in the terror addled West Bank: “We welcome Rosie O’Donnell to stay among us and to get to know the truth from being here, like many American peace activists are doing,” said Ala Senakreh.

The terrorists sound off about O’Donnel in Aaron Klein’s book Shmoozing With Terrorists, which contains shocking interviews of radical Islamist conducted by a Jewish reporter from New York.

If O’Donnell does take the terrorists up on their offer to come live with them, she might want to keep the fact that she is gay on the down-low since Senakreh and his Islamist crew consider homosexuality a disease that should be punished by death. You can’t please everyone all the time, Rosie– but you sure can try!
